Arrangement of Attic in Montreuil
The project is an arrangement of the attic of a building dating 1911, situated in Montreuil.
The space on the ground of the project in the attic is approximately 45 m ², the living space 15 m ² and the terrace 8 m ². Surfaces being reduced, it was necessary to modify the skeleton, in particular the links of faitage (doubling breakdowns and beams) in order to facilitate the circulation under the roof and kick away livable and feasible places. Furthermore, all the thicknesses (insulation and constitution of the floor) were optimized to keep a maximum of height under ceiling.
The will was not to multiply materials, that is why it was chosen that a unique material as the ground and the ceiling which besides being economic, gets married perfectly to the skeleton wood existing. All the panels OSB was tinged in white to give this effect of creamy ambiance (“cocoon”) to the project.
The set is fluid, sliding doors integrated in a library (bedroom side), and cupboard (bathroom side) insur the close of places. The will being to turn around the bathroom and to multiply the passages and the manners in order to create a feeling of increase of the space
